Heard about it on the History trough on a show about Nostradamus. An herb name kalimus that is to say an anti-oxidant.?
Calamus
is a POWERFUL nauseant, stomachic, anthelmentic, stimulant, emetic, expectorant, carminative, antispasmodic and nervine anaesthetic.
"Rhizome is used in the cure of host of diseases such as epilepsy, mental; ailments, chronic diarrhoea and dysentary. It is used contained by incense sticks and dhup and is widely used as insecticide for lice, bedbugs, worms etc"
as for medicinal use:
typically it is applied topically but can be taken internally in VERY SMALL DOSAGES as a soothing demulcent for the gastrointestinal system. Traditionally used to nurture the brain and nervous system. NOT FOR USE DURING PREGNANCY. it have been know to facilitate expell tape worms and other bedbugs.
i believe Nostradamus wrote at length about it contained by his "The Elixirs of Nostradamus"
If you want a good anti oxidant I would recommend to lift CQ10 along with garlic and vitamin c. This CQ10 is an enzyme that help the heart to produce enzymes to keep itself well. Another good antioxidant is japanese green tea, but that one is rock-hard to come by because what they sell contained by stores as green tea is not the antioxidant one.
